Threats against Muslims facing difficult days in Europe after the July 7 blasts
that occurred in the British capital London continue.
Kaj Vilhelmsen,
the owner of local radio station, Radio Holger broadcasting in Denmark’s capital
Copenhagen, suggests killing Muslims in order to combat terrorism.
Vilhelmsen, who holds all Muslims responsible for the London blasts used the
expression “supporters of Mohammed” instead of “Muslims”. “Muslims should be
expelled from Western Europe in order to fight against terrorism. We can only
prevent their bombings in various places using this method. Fanatic Mohammed
supporters should be terminated as well. The meaning of this is to kill some of
them,” Vilhelmsen claimed.
Known having extreme rightist views,
Vilhelmsen’s remarks received harsh reactions and local Copenhagen police
immediately launched an investigation. Security officer Per Larsen expressing
that he found Vilhelmsen’s remarks ill mannered and rude, announced the start of
investigation today, August 1. Confirming that Vilhelmsen’s remarks will be
taken into account under the penalty code, Larsen clarified that he hoped no one
was considering fulfilling Vilhelmsen’s remarks and undertakes attacks against
Muslims. President of the Copenhagen Radio Council Martin Geertsen said they
would take the necessary steps to cancel the broadcasting license of Radio
Holger, of which its owner directly aims inciting hatred against Muslims. |
