The European Commission will provide about a million euros financial
support to a tourism project Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce has
introduced. The potential tourism in Southeastern Anatolia will therefore be put into action. In the scope, two tasks to develop the cultural heritage in Southeastern were signed. The EU is to meet 90 percent of the related projects in Gaziantep, Rumkale, and Halfeti. Rumkale, the place where one of the apostles of Jesus John (Yuhenna) wrote a copy of the Bible in 840 B.C., is aimed to be open to foreign tourism. The establishment of a mosaic school for the first time is also in the scope of these projects and in Halfeti, improving handcraft art works will be a main focus. |
