European Union (EU) state and government heads have agreed that the
crisis over the constitution and the budget will not be reflected in
the memberships process of the current candidate countries Turkey,
Bulgaria, and Romania.
The leaders have decided to confirm the decisions of December 17 in the summit's closing declaration today.
The joint declaration makes cautious statements on Western Balkan
countries (Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina)
regarding their position in Europe, but says it is important for them
to met requirements for democratization and for human rights reforms. |
