Ex-Minister Admits Greek Cypriot Wants No Solution Print E-mail
One of the former Foreign Ministers of Greek Cypriot, Nikos Rolandis, said refusing the Annan plan shows islander Greeks do not want to resolve the Cyprus issue.

Rolandis speaking to Greek newspaper Alithia said Greeks have refused all plans since 1960 and added they are more responsible about the political results of the Cypriot problem.  The one time foreign minister reminding the latest report of the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Kofi Annan was denied by Cyprus Greek Administration Leader Tasos Papadopoulos, said, "No one believes in the Greek side in the international arena because it has given the impression that it does not want a solution."

Nobody in the international arena finds either the Turks or Greeks solely responsible, Rolandis drew attention, but he said: "When we make objective critics, we notice not only the crimes and sins of the other, but also our crimes and sins. And those balances have been observed in the solution plans. We did not understand this situation before. Therefore, we have refused all plans up until now."

"The sins of Greeks are more than Turks on solving the problem in the last 45 years. When Annan received the message on our intention, he thought there was no reason to deal with the problem. And neither the Secretary-General nor others deal with the Cypriot issue, since we are not dealing with it."
