The British government is preparing to increase the age of purchasing alcohol and cigarettes to 18.
Reportedly, in Britain those who are 16 years of age can
purchase cigarettes and alcohol, but due to increasing bad habits the
said decree is expected to be adopted.
The Health Ministry is considering the proposal made in anti-cigarette
and anti-alcohol campaigns. Scotland is also preparing a similar law.
According to a questionnaire among adults, 55 percent of British would
like to raise the age limit of purchasing cigarettes to 21. Nine of 10
people participants in the questionnaire, defended shops that sell
cigarettes to children should be punished. |
