Pavarotti Hopes for Concerts with Carreras, Domingo

Italian opera artist Luciano Pavarotti said before his retirement, he wants to once again perform with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras.
On one of his farewell tour stops in Hong Kong, the Italian king of opera said before his retirement, he would like to give one or two concerts as the three tenors.

European Central Bank Increases Interest Rates

The European Central Bank increased interest rates in the Eurozone after a five year interval.
The reasons for the raise are noted as economic revival and high inflation rates in the zone countries.
According to the latest modifications decided at the Bank’s headquarters in the German city of Berlin, interest rates increased to 2.25 percent from two percent.

Search Engine Google Aids Hackers Claim

Search Leader Google couldn't be reached for comment on a claim that "Google hacking" is making it easier for would-be hackers to identify and infiltrate vulnerable sites. Barry Cribb, MD of IS Digital Networks, tells that a potential hacker can identify weaknesses in Web sites simply by including the correct enquiries in the advanced search boxes.

European Stage set for Search Engine Growth

Search Engine usage is likely to take off in Europe according to Nielsen NetRatings analysis.
The growth of searching has in increased by the double the percentage that general internet use has.
The actual figures show 110 million internet connections growing to 115 million in the year to April but regular searchers moved up from 79 million to 89 million.

Google Search EngineLauren Weinstein, co-founder of People for Internet Responsibility, a forum for online issues, has voiced concern about the length of time Google holds on to its records of internet activity.
Every search, every e-mail is monitored and the details kept. Of course, every ISP and search engine operator does the same but with the significant difference that most of then consign the records to the trash after a relatively short time, in the case of AOL for example, e-mails are only held for twenty-eight days.

Search Engine Operators to deal with fraudulent clickers

Clicklab, the anti-click-fraud service provider is getting more and more complaints about fraudulent clicking on sponsored listings on Search Engine Sites. Both Google and Yahoo derive the bulk of their revenue and profit from pay-per-click advertising - the service whereby an advertiser pays every time a searcher clicks through to his site when it shows up as a search result.

Sohu.Com Launches Upgraded Search Engine

Sohu.com, one of China’s largest internet portal operators, reported to launch a newly upgraded version of Sogou, its search engine.
According to Charles Zhang, Sohu’s chief executive, the Sogou 2.5 is yet another addition to the company’s entire technology system.

Merkel urges Iran to comply with nuke watchdog

New German Chancellor Angela Merkel urged Iran to cooperate with the international community and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), AFP reported.
"I can only warn Iran to comply with the international community and the IAEA," Merkel said in her first speech to parliament since becoming chancellor last week.
