Last June, Google Inc. launched free global-location tool wherein any Internet user could view the full-colored satellite photos from wide-ranging areas such as Taj Mahal and Rocky Mountains. However, Google Earth faced an unexpected reaction from government officials who believe that the easy accessibility of satellite images could compromise their national security. Many nations have stated their concerns regarding the Google Earth program.

EU in Crisis may Overlook Enlargement Policy

The European Union (EU) is most likely to not consider its enlargement policies at the December 15-16 summit.
After France and the Netherlands refused to approve the EU Constitution, officials in Brussels still have not managed to break the deadlock over budget plans. Recent speculation indicates that EU officials will not handle the enlargement issue at the summit in December. Some diplomats claimed that officials of EU member countries made clear that they would not talk about the enlargement policies during the summit. Discussions; however, are still on-going, diplomatic sources emphasized.

Any hopes Fenerbahce had of advancing to the next stage of the Champions League were blown away by AC Milan, when the Istanbul side was crushed by four goals at home Wednesday night.

It was almost a case of the Yellow Canaries versus Andriy Schevchenko, with Fener coming out of the contest against the Ukrainian far the worst.

The government taking important steps in removing obstacles facing foreign capital is about to implement another new reform.
A department to be directly involved with foreign capital is to be established in the Prime Ministry.
The Investment Promotion Agency will be the only address for companies planning to undertake investment in Turkey.

Indian Oil Giant to Set up Refinery in Turkey

The Indian Oil Chairman (IOC), Mr. Sarthak Behuria, said in corporation with Turkey they may build a refinery with the capacity of processing 120,000 barrels of crude oil a day.
Indian Oil had previously partnered with Calik Energy for the TUPRAS privatization, a state-run Turkish petroleum monopoly.

Indian Oil Giant bids for acquiring Turkey's TUPRAS

Oil company, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has bid to acquire Turkey's giant petroleum refinery TUPRAS, which has a combined processing capacity of 27.6 million tonnes per annum.
The company has submitted a letter of intent to the Turkish Privatisation Administration (PA) to acquire 51 per cent stake in TUPRAS, for which eleven other local and international oil firms are also in the fray.
It is the second time that block shares of TUPRAS have been put on sale.

India's largest oil company Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) announced that they would make a bid for the privatization of 51 percent of public shares for the Turkish state-owned petroleum monopoly, TUPRAS.

British Airways to Fly From London to Dalaman

British Airways will start direct scheduled flights from London to Dalaman in May 2006 for two times a week.
The flights on Mondays and Fridays between May 1st and October 31st will be realized by planes of GB Airways, a representative partner of British Airways.

THY Makes $106 Million Profit in 9 Months

The surge in tourism raises the profits of airline companies. Turkish Airlines (THY) Manager General Temel Kotil said THY closed the first nine months of the year with a $106 billion net profit.

A 31 percent increase represented with this profit and from the sales their income attained $1.8 billion in the same period during which the number of passengers grew 20 percent and attained 11 million. Kotil also reported the maintenance and repair center building project was still underway.
