Soccer: Brazil Ranked Number One for 4th Time |

The National Brazilian Soccer team ranked number one for the fourth time in FIFA World Ranking.
Brazil, which won the FIFA Confederation Cup in 2005, five world
championships and is the group leader of 2006 World Championships
Elimination, completed the ranking as the leader with 840 points.
In the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, Brazil's closest rival was the
Czech Republic reaching second position with 796 points. Holland ranked
number three with 791 points. The Turkish team maintained its position
and completed the year 2005 as number 11. Turkey ranked number seven in
UEFA ranking. Ghana made an almost continual ascent up the rankings in
2005, gaining 80 points and 27 positions in the process, and landing at
position 50 in December's ranking. Ghana was declared the best improver
by FIFA. |
