Evidence from a second witness was heard on the fourth day of the trial of the Saddam case, in which the toppled Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and his seven companions, have come before a judge accused of killing hundreds in the Dujail massacre in 1982.

Chief Justice Rizgar Mohammed Emin first heard the statement from female witness, Witness ‘A’, given from behind a curtain. At the end of the first hour of her testimony, a closed session is determined and the defense counsel was allowed to see the witness in person.

Later, a second witness, Witness “B”, a 74-year-old woman, also told her testimony to the courtroom.

Witness B told the court that her family was arrested a year before the Dujail massacre, in 1981.

Emin, however, ruled to continue her testimony in a closed session since the audio system was not working properly.

Witness A testified that she was beaten by Saddam’s men and was subjected to torture as well. At the time of the incident, she was 16 years old, told the teary witness.
