Dutches say "no" to EU constitution |

The majority of Dutch voters rejected the EU constitution referendum on Wednesday. 37 % of Dutches also said Yes in the referendum. After the French referendum, Netherlands is second country of reject this constitution. All EU countries must accept this constution before October 2006 to come into force.
An exit poll released as soon as voting closed showed 63 percent of voters in the Netherlands had rejected the treaty, ignoring calls by most parties to support the text.
Counting of the foreign postal vote was expected to take several days but was not expected to significantly alter the outcome. |
