Former Iraqi general Salah Mahmoud Ali, who took refuge in Turkey after
he opposed to ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, made striking claims
about the developments in Iraq.
Ali said the person who is on trial at court is not Saddam Hussein
himself. The former general continued that Saddam, who is known to be
of Arab origin, is in fact of Jewish origin and the news which reported
Saddam’s sons deceased last year is also false.
The general left his country in 1999 when Saddam ordered him to bomb
Kurdish regions of Iraq. Ali claims the one on trial is a look alike as
there are many people in Iraq who look like Saddam; and as someone who
worked side by side with Saddam, he undoubtedly knows that the
individual standing on trial is not Saddam. |
