Japanese open water treatment plant in Iraq Print E-mail
A water treatment plant was opened on Tuesday by Japanese troops in the Iraqi city of Samawa, the treatment plant will provide drinking water to Rumeisa Town and other districts.

A Water treatment plant was constructed in Rumeisa District, 35 km from the Iraqi city of Samawa and opened by the Japanese on Tuesday. It will also provide the drinking water need for El-Mecid Suveyr districts of Rumeisa.
Samawa Governor, Muhammed Ali El Hassani also said,”We are grateful to Japanese troops for all their support for reconstruction of Iraq,and this water treatment plant and all their other projects.There are lots of projects that have been established by the Japanese so far".

Japanese commander, Takaaki Tachibana, Governor of Samawa, Muhammed Ali El Hassani and residents of Rumeisa District attended the opening ceremony.

Takaaki Tachibana,said, ”I’m so happy to be here. This Project is a key for solving the lack of water and also for providing jobs to Samawians. Also another 5 projects are on the way. The second part of the same project has just been started. We also want to finish and put into service for Samawa people. Our other projects are to finish El-Sina School and others .Our aim is the reconstruction of Iraq. Our actions will go on.”
Japanese troops are still constructing Fevret El Ishrin Health Center, Rumeisa sewage treatment plant and Garbi Rumeisa Health Center.

A large water canal project is also being planned by the Japanese.
